Another recent acquisition was this bronze paperweight that was cast for the City National Bank & Trust Co. of Kansas City, MO in 1947 to commemorate the opening of their new building in downtown Kansas City. This was most likely a giveaway at the opening ceremony (and probably for a while after, until supplies were exhausted!). The top shows a bas-relief depiction of Cyrus Edwin Dallin's iconic statue "The Scout" which overlooks the city high on a bluff. The underside has the dedication between three "bun" style feet. It's in fabulous condition and was very reasonably priced, so it became a welcome addition to my collection late last year.
